"Congratulations to Intel Security (McAfee) on this achievement"

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--McAfee, part of Intel Security, today announced that leading analyst firm Gartner has once again positioned Intel Security (McAfee) as a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Mobile Data Protection and positioned the highest for ability to execute as published on September 8, 20141. This achievement marks seven consecutive years of Intel Security (McAfee) as a Leader of the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Mobile Data Protection. Intel Security’s (McAfee) primary goal is to deliver data protection to its customers and assist them in meeting compliance requirements, protecting against loss, theft, unauthorized access and helping to secure transfer of confidential information.

Data breaches can be very costly, with the economic impact of cybercrime at $445 billion2. The cause of a breach can come from many sources, both internal and external. These risks can be easily mitigated by encrypting data on all endpoints and removable media, without affecting end user productivity. According to the latest 2014 Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report, which Intel Security (McAfee) was a contributor to, physical theft and loss is a key area where risk can be minimized, “considering the high frequency of lost assets, encryption is as close to a no-brainer solution as it gets for this incident pattern.3

“Our data protection solutions provide customers with a comprehensive set of tools to protect their critical data and help meet compliance requirements,” said Candace Worley, senior vice president and general manager of endpoint protection at McAfee, part of Intel Security. “We believe our position as a leader in the Magic Quadrant once again affirms that our data protection products continue to advance and provide our customers with robust, highly integrated solutions and automated workflow tools to make data protection easy to use, manage, and own.”

Intel Security’s data protection solutions help a wide range of customers protect their data including those in health, education, finance and local, state and federal governments worldwide. Customers use Intel Security (McAfee) data protection solutions to secure laptops, desktops, shared files, CDs, DVDs and removable media, as well as securing data on smartphones and tablets.

“Congratulations to Intel Security (McAfee) on this achievement,” stated Pavel Balašov, head of identity and security services at Swedbank. “We’ve had Intel Security as our security solutions provider for over 15 years.
